Boambee FC

Home Ground: Ayrshire Park

About the Club

Boambee Football Club was established in 1981. The land that has become Boambee’s home ground of Ayrshire Park was donated by the Hull-Moody family in the late 1970′s to the Coffs Harbour City Council for community recreational use and after much work by the local soccer community the ground was established as the home of Boambee Football Club.

Boambee is now a strong community based club that is well represented in both male and female junior competitions offering a true path for our junior player base.

During more recent years the club has been crowned NCF Club of the Year on numerous occasions, and has had an impressive list of senior players take out major awards at the NCF presentation evenings. Our senior women’s and men’s teams have been consistently successful over the years with 2019 seeing 5 of our 6 senior teams take out minor premierships with 4 teams to go on to win their grand final.

We pride ourselves on building our junior player base around respect, encouragement and inclusiveness. Our success is measured by the pride our members take in the club.

Head Coach John Furgusson

Jon Fergusson is the current senior men’s coach for Boambee FC. Jon has been coaching senior football at Boambee for the past 4 seasons , prior to this he was involved with the NCF development squads for a number of years .

Jon’s approach to coaching is technical for training and adaptive for game day. He firmly believes that every player can improve no matter their stage of football or age . Coaching highlight was season 2019 winning both minor and major premierships with Boambee FC.

Captain Luke France

My name is Luke France, I am the Striker for the Bombers. Over the past two years our Bombers have had consecutive grand final wins and this year I have proudly been selected as Captain of this great bunch of guys, this allows me to work alongside a great coach, Fergo and manager Mr Taylor!

The highlight of my soccer career was playing in Brisbane premier league for four years and being selected as club Captain for the Mount Gravatt Hawks. I prepare for games by going for a surf and relaxing, this helps me switch on and focus on the game ahead. I am really excited for the challenge of the CPL, playing against the best teams on the Mid North Coast, seeing if we can rise to the challenge.
