About the Club:

Sawtell FC was established in 1968 and in 1974 formed one of the regions first women’s teams. Since then the club has grown to be the largest club in the North Coast Football region. The club has a strong reputation for developing high quality junior and senior talent and have had several players progress to senior national team level.

In 2020, Sawtell FC was awarded four stars under the National Club Development Program and prides itself on being a diverse and inclusive club where players of any level can come and share a love of the game.

Head Coach Jodi Jenkins

Jody Jenkins started his playing career at English Premiere League team AFC Bournemouth where he played for 4 years as a youth player and also acquired his UEFA C coaching license. He played professionally at Welsh Premiere league club Barry Town and in this time they were league winners, premier cup winners, league cup winners and Jody made 4 appearances in champions league qualifiers. After playing for several other clubs both professionally and semi professionally he then played for 9 years for Welsh club Croesyceiliog where he also coached for the final 18 months before moving with his family to Australia.

Captain Sam Sawtell:

Sam Sawtell started playing for Sawtell U/5s in 1995. He has played at the club over many seasons and won the coveted Golden Boot in the Premier League in 2012. After several seasons at different clubs around the region and some time away for injuries, Sam returned to Sawtell FC in 2020 with renewed fitness and passion for the game. Sam is an avid Liverpool supporter and has a Sawtell Scorpions tattoo.
